Dr. Mustafa M. Husain

Dr. Mustafa M. Husain, a 1980 graduate of Dow University of Health Sciences, served as the founding President of the Education Support Initiative (ESI) and now serves as its Executive Director. He is a Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. A resident of Durham, North Carolina, he is an Adjunct Professor at Duke University, where he is also affiliated with the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences.
Board-certified in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry, Dr. Husain received advanced training at Stanford University, the University of Southern California, and Duke University. He is a prolific academic contributor, having published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and served as a reviewer for major psychiatric publications.
Dr. Husain has chaired numerous national and international seminars on geriatric mental health. A widely respected educator and leader, he has received several honors, including the Dow Graduate Association of North America’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
